The Tudors (Part 4): The First Three Wives of Henry VIII (with Anna Morris) | The Tudors: A Real Game of Thrones
👑 Jane Seymour became the third wife of King Henry VIII in 1536 after the execution of Anne Boleyn. Unlike her predecessor, Jane was known for her modesty and gentleness, which endeared her to the king.
👶 In 1537, Jane gave birth to Edward VI, Henry VIII's long-desired male heir.
⚰️ She died just 12 days later from postnatal complications.
😭 Henry VIII was devastated by her death. He mourned her more than any of his other wives and considered her his "true" wife. He honoured her by choosing to be buried beside her at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
